• Payment information: billing details processed securely through our third-party payment provider. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including syncing your writing across macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android devices.
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
• Process transactions and send related billing information.
• Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
• Analyze usage patterns to improve performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
• Respond to your support requests and feedback.

We do not use your writing content to train machine learning models, serve advertisements, or for any purpose other than delivering and improving the Service.

Data Storage & Security

Your writing is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption. We store your data on secure, geographically redundant servers to ensure availability and durability. While no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, we implement industry-standard safeguards, including regular security audits, access controls, and intrusion detection systems, to protect your information.

Local copies of your work stored on your devices are managed by the LitWrite application and are subject to your device's own security settings. We recommend enabling device-level encryption and strong passwords on all devices where you use LitWrite.

Third-Party Services

We work with a limited number of trusted third-party service providers to operate the Service. These providers have access only to the information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to protect your data. Our third-party partners include:

• Cloud infrastructure: for hosting and data storage.
• Payment processing: for handling subscription billing securely.
• Analytics: for aggregated, anonymized usage statistics to help us improve the product.
• Email delivery: for transactional emails such as password resets and account notifications.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or writing content with advertisers or data brokers.

Your Rights

Children's Privacy

LitWrite is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice within the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of LitWrite after the updated policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
